Resumo: The objective of the research is to present the rap group Racionais Mcs as a revolutionary music group, which uses art, political and social activism to raise awareness and mobilize towards profound social transformations in Brazil. The movement began in the city of São Paulo, from its outskirts and favelas. In this way, rap and the group analyzed can be seen with a triple origin: the popular layers of the outskirts of São Paulo, the combative art linked to samba and black people, a segment relegated in the city and in the job market since abolition, and the pauperized fractions of the working classes. As a methodology, a critical analysis is carried out on the six official albums released by the group, with this analysis divided into two chapters, chapter two which deals with the first three albums, pointing out the beginning of the fight for a better society with art as a revolutionary, objective weapon. the consolidation of the fight against inequalities, analyzing the last three albums. The research confirms the political and social activism of rappers, taking as reference a specialized bibliography from an academic point of view, from the angle of political science and sociology. Analyzing the lyrics and poetry contained in the albums and highlighting the critical and emancipatory directions of this literary musical production in relation to current society, demarcating the seeds of necessary transformation of desirable futures in terms of equity and justice. The text speaks in an analytical way, showing the composers' objectivity in promoting a revolution in democracy, this revolution being a revolution in the cultural sense, raising peripheral people's awareness of the class struggle. The production of Racionais MCs is analyzed with bibliographies that dialogue with the utopia of a fairer society, with authors such as: Marcuse, Miguel Chaia, Florestan Fernandes, among others. In the same way that Karl Marx and Florestan Fernandes used writing and praxis to raise awareness (critical sociological analysis) and to sensitize people and move the working class towards radical and revolutionary transformations, the Racionais MCs write, sing, recite their poetry, they put rap and hip hop beats and take their compositions to millions of people with the same interest, seeking to free the oppressed from the oppressor
