Resumo: Purpose: To describe the experiences of cochlear implant (CI) users when communicating via telephone and to assess the applicability of the translated and adapted Telislife questionnaire. Method: The translation and adaptation of the Telislife questionnaire and the development of the "Habits of Auditory Experience on the Telephone" questionnaire involved the participation of five speech-language pathologists who were experts in the field and five CI users who provided input on vocabulary and questionnaire applicability. In the validation phase, the subjects of this study were 32 adults, aged 18 and above, CI users who had their first implant for at least one year and had connectivity accessories for the CI. Results: The sample included subjects with ages ranging from 18 to 73 years (average age = 33.3 years), with 13 (40.6%) females and 19 (59.4%) males. Accuracy percentages in sentences recorded with connectivity exceeded 90% in all three frequency of use categories. It was observed that the means and medians of accuracy percentages in monosyllables - speakerphone, sentences - speakerphone, sentences recorded in a soundproof booth, and sentences recorded on the phone speaker increased as the frequency of connectivity use increased. Conclusion: The application of the Telislife questionnaire demonstrated sensitivity in identifying and evaluating the use of connectivity in CI users and is suitable for capturing a variety of experiences and opinions regarding phone use, facilitating the identification of areas to work on in therapy to improve phone listening quality
