PROFESSOR: an inventory of meanings" comes of the expectation of exploring ways of becoming a teacher and, together, some relevant factors in the formation of this subject. Several aspects are correlated with the purpose of delineate a spectrum of the proposal subject. Based on bibliographic research we proposed to reflect about the meanings of training and its variations over time; about the identity of category, guaranteed by a professor culture, and about the pathways of training that articulate and generate knowledge needed to the exercise of the profession. Beside it we analysed the entire set of production academic of professor Dr. Marlene Correro Grillo, and of , extracted categories that were taken as points of resonance to those aspects initially studied.
