The investigation of the trajectory of teachers of mathematics aims to understand the positive personal characteristics of university teachers, which influence the formation of future teachers of mathematics. The objective of this research is to identify factors that influence positively the process of training teachers of mathematics and possibly help them organize satisfactorily the learning situations of their students. Finding such indicatives means, among other things, enable other teachers the (re)construction of their teaching practice. The research has developed from an intentional sampling of what we want to understand in the trajectory of life and work of those teachers in order to know the dimensions that make them stand out as good teachers of mathematics. The survey was conducted in three undergraduate courses in mathematics in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. The research subjects are teachers nominated by students through a questionnaire and the second instrument used is a semi-structured interview. In this approach, we work with emerging theories by examining the meaning in context to understand events of the theories, still seeking to understand through the interviews with the subjects, basic aspects of human behavior, in historical time, their life stories. It is understood that the teacher trainer carries in his career a commitment beyond the institutional, to the social, of contributing to the formation of a professional of the education area that is competent and critical, as a co-participant in building a more humane society and fair to all.
