This research aims to understand the Lomography, an analogue and experimental photographic technique, as a form of visual manifestation of the contemporary imaginary. In this intent, it is proposed to analyse the Lomography from two principal axes, the Photographic Writing and the imaginary, using as methodological support the Comprehensive Sociology by Michel Maffesoli. The theoretical referencies are composed by the notions of Modernity, Postmodernity, image, Imaginary and Photography, according the reflections of thinkers such as Jean-François Lyotard, Michel Maffesoli, Gilbert Durand, Régis Debray, Jacques Aumont and François Soulages. To the understanding of Photography, from its aesthetic / meaning and its uses and functions, the reflections made by André Rouillé are the main guides for this path. The approach with the Lomography are taken through the Lomographic International Society and its extensive archive of Lomographic images.
