Resumo: | The present thesis consists in a study of the Rio-Grandense Academy of Letters, reviewing its history and production, based on Itamar Even-Zohar’s polysystem theory. The material hereby analysed is based on primary sources originated by the Academy itself and focuses on data about the institution’s history, membership, and periodical journal, which has been in circulation since 1910. This study uses the selected corpus to highlight the way in which this association comprises a literary system that serves as foundation for a larger one: the rio-grandense literary system. |
