Resumo: The analysis object of this research is the necessary knowledge for the formation and performance of the Advisory Teachers of Inclusive Education (PAEI). These professionals perform the roaming service to support work with students with disabilities in public schools of Santo André (São Paulo metropolitan area). In this way, we seek to answer the following questions: What knowledges turn up as necessary for the role of the Advisory Teacher of Inclusive Education? How did the permanent training offered in service in 2018 enhances the knowledge and performance of Inclusive Education Advisory Teachers? From these questions, the general objective of the research was delimited as analyzing from the understanding of the PAEIs how the training offered by the Management of the Inclusive Education in the year 2018 enhanced their expertise and their professional performance. As a specific objective, the choice was, taking a survey of the attributions of the Advisory Teachers of Inclusive Education; classify the fundamental aspects for the permanent formation of specialized teachers in special education, PAEIs’ field of action; to analyze the records and guidelines of the offered training to the PAEIs in 2018. The research subjects were six Advisory Teachers of Inclusive Education. It is a qualitative research and as a tool for data collection a survey was taken by PAEIs and the analysis of the meetings held by the Management of the Inclusive Education in 2018 records and agendas. The theoretical basis of the research involved authors that address the permanent formation and the necessary knowledge for the teacher's practice; the Special Education studies seen by the Inclusive perspective and teacher professional development. The obtained results highlight the necessary knowledge for PAEI's performance to be related to pedagogical knowledge, knowing the deficiencies, people management, knowledge of laws and public policies regarding special education in an inclusive perspective and the rights of people with disabilities. Regarding the permanent training in service, the PAEIs evaluated it as important, punctual and that contributed to the work’s development. Emerging from this research the importance of training needs for these professionals, focused on people management and preparation for the role of trainers.
