Resumo: The incubators have been used as tools for innovation and economic development processes of companies, regions and even countries. Over the years since 2000 there has been an exponential growth of the number of incubators in Brazil. However, from the second decade on, a change on this trend was noticed and the number of incubators started reverting, since many of them either have closed down their activities or have been facing financial difficulties. Concerning technological basis incubators, despite the large number, many studies have been questioning the effectiveness of their management model and incubation process. The purpose of this study was to propose a business model for technological basis company incubators, which contributes towards its self-sustainability based on experiences of company incubators from Portugal and Brazil. The applied methodology was the qualitative one with the use of multiple case studies at ten company incubators, being four of them Portuguese and six of them Brazilian ones. As a result, it is proposed the Business Model for Technological Basis Company Incubators MONIBTEC, constituted by the nine components of the business model developed by Osterwalder and Pigneur (2011) adjusted for the reality of the technological basis company incubators in Brazil. Its variables were measured and elaborated by the group of players directly involved in the company incubation process, incubators manager. Therefore, this study fulfill a gap found at the bibliography related to the use of business models headed for the formalizing of the manager process of technological basis company incubators.
