Resumo: The purpose of this work is to immerse in the reasons that reflect the popular feeling of discredit in relation to the political class as a whole, and this perception goes through the lack of identification or legitimacy of the representative system, as demonstrated through a narrative of the contemporary world and also in relation to the historical burdens resulting from the detachment of the political class with society, which reflects in the weakening of the democratic model, especially when the presidential system of government is facing. When analyzing the institutes related to participatory democracy, especially the need to implement a system of revocation of elective mandates through popular initiative, the objective is to demonstrate that this instrument may be the necessary stimulus for the cooling of the politically turbulent moment experienced by Brazil and in the world, and the more popular participation in issues pertaining to the political control of society, the more legitimate the system of representation and the greater the strengthening of the democratic system.
