Resumo: Entrepreneurship has gained considerable space in education, public policies and the interest of researchers and managers, much in terms of their impact on social and economic aspects of a nation. This growing interest is clearly due to due, to the correlation between entrepreneurship and economic growth appearing through innovation and job creation. Entrepreneurial intention is considered as the first step in the process of finding and exploiting opportunities (KOLVEREID, 2016), which makes the intention important in the understanding of entrepreneurship (SCHLAEGEL; KOENIG, 2014). Ferreira (2017) points out that, despite the growth of international work on entrepreneurial intention, there is still a gap in theoretical and empirical studies on this subject in Brazil. As a result, this dissertation aimed to analyze, from the perspective of the Theory of Planned Behavior (TCP), the determinants of the entrepreneurial intention of entrepreneurs and potential entrepreneurs of the state of Acre. Then, the constructs that most positively influence the entrepreneurial intention are the subjective norms and the perception of control, respectively. Failure to accept the hypothesis that the need for achievement positively influences entrepreneurial intent may be due to the fact that the psychological characteristics of entrepreneurs may undergo changes as the entrepreneur moves away from the moment in which the motivating event of entrepreneurship
