Resumo: The present study had as its theme the Student Social Assistance Program at the Federal Institute of Amazonas/Campus Tefé: students' perception. The theme arose from actively participating as a professional (Social Worker) in the actions of the Student Assistance Policy, and at the same time, understanding the importance of student assistance, for academic training, especially for the most socioeconomically vulnerable students. The general objective of the research was to understand the students' perception of the Student Social Assistance Program and its contribution to integral human formation, especially in terms of permanence and success during the Pandemic (COVID-19). The locus of the research was the IFAM/Campus Tefé and as a sample, fourteen (14) students who live in the rural area, from the Technical Courses of Medium Level in the Integrated Forms (07) and subsequent (07) of the IFAM/Campus Tefé. This research had a descriptive and exploratory character with a qualitative approach of the case study type. We used as data collection instruments, bibliographical and documentary research, questionnaire, interview and field diary, in order to better understand the investigated phenomenon. The collected data were analyzed in the light of Discursive Textual Analysis (DTA) according to Moraes and Galiazzi (2011; 2016), which provided the metatext as a result: students' perceptions about the student social assistance program at IFAM. It was found that despite all the obstacles and weaknesses of the PSES/IFAM, the students were unanimous in saying that they recognize Student Assistance as a right, that the program has contributed to integral human formation, permanence and academic success, especially for the most advanced students vulnerable during the pandemic (COVID-19). Based on this information, an Educational Product was developed: “Student Support Guide on the IFAM Student Social Assistance Program”, with the aim of presenting IFAM students with information and guidance on the gradual process from access to membership of the Social Assistance Program Student Council (PSES/IFAM). However, more support is needed from the State, the Institution, human resources (Management and Multiprofessional Team) and financial resources, as the program is limited.
