Resumo: |
There are many ways in which people identify themselves in their emotional and sexual relationships. Those who deviate from social gender norms often suffer derogatory attributes and are socially stigmatized when their affective-sexual orientation is revealed, such as the experience of men in cisheteronormative relationships who are attracted to men. Objective: to understand the experience of men in cisheteronormative relationships and who feel affective-sexual attraction to men. Method: this is a qualitative, descriptive and cross-sectional study. Participants: 62 men over the age of 18 who experience and have experienced cisheteronormative relationships. Materials: questionnaire to survey sociodemographic characteristics, to outline the profile of employees and a comprehensive and dialogued interview using a guiding question. Procedure: employees were contacted using the Snowball method, a sampling technique that uses a chain of references. Upon agreeing to participate, the interviews were carried out and recorded with the prior consent of the employees. Data analysis: the reports were transcribed in full and subjected to qualitative analysis from a Phenomenological perspective and in the light of this theoretical framework, in an attempt to understand the meanings attributed by collaborators to their experiences. Result: Five categories emerged from the reports: Childhood, Pre-adolescence, Adolescence, Adulthood and Maturity. Conclusion: Each employee can attribute different meanings to their experiences, from childhood to maturity. The reports reveal conflicts regarding homoaffectivity and the insertion of naturalized cisheteronormativity. The discussion takes place around secrecy, which guides life conduct, permeating the stigmatization suffered, institutionalized homophobia and mocked suffering. |
