Resumo: This dissertation is concerned with the analysis of an implicit educational proposal of participatory planning of Minas Gerais State Rural Development Project. The project is in execution since 1976 at Zona da Mata area of that brazilian state. Such education action is integrated with another broader educational program whose main objective is the transfer of technology. The modern and appropria te technology aims at increasing productivity by hectare in small farmers and share-croppers cultivation - farmers with few land and farmer with no land for working. The state economic intervention was necessary basically because of the land matter, that provoked inclusive a moviment of farmers early in the sixties. At thelevel of people participation the intended to dissimulate the local society inequality. project lt promoted, at the same time, new consummers habits, in order to create demand for industrialized basic products 'supposed' to increase the agricultural productivity. However, the realized education practice showed clearly the project ambiguities and incoherences, and aIs o demonstrated the contradictions that the project tried to dissimulate. These results were obtained mainly because of the experience of the small farmers and share-croppers,accululated in their work daily practice.
