Resumo: This work has by purpose to carry out a study about the effects of sense that emerge from the passions, considering that these effects of passionate sense, entered in the text, the setting in narrative like variations from the state of mind of the characters. Therefore, the work Dois Irmãos by Milton Hatoum, shows as essence of its plot the family drama that develops around the conflicting relationship of two twins brothers, approach the expression of several passions. Therefore,it is an expressive corpus of great value to the study of passions. Bearing in mind sense produced by passions in the texts, chose to approach of the semiotic French, a theory of meaning of which coherent and affective method of analysis allows us to examine the settings passionate that characterize the passions within that culture, like the effects of a syntax and passionate statement that characterize the route of the passional character. To develop the theoretical approach we used, mainly, the theoretical postulations from Greimas,Fontanille and Bertrand ,semioticists who exploit with depth the procedures necessary for the analysis of the semiotics passions. This way this work tries to show the effects to each passion in particular,as they arise in the interaction, in the intersubjective relationship of the characters involved in the conflicts and also how they are organized in passionate canonics schemes. Then, to examine the speech as a whole, considering the passions that emerged in the relationship between the two brothers, the review shows that the passion of the mother for just a child stimulates the conflict between the twins and their passion expressions. The analyses also allow ascertain how the narrator, to reconstruct the past in search of his roots evaluates and moralizes the passions of the other characters. But he is affected by them, as he also participates in history. Thus, the interlacing of the passions entered in the text produces the effect of passionate contagion and so the passions can be evaluated under the domain of each other, each influencing the other, as one consequence of others. The interlacing those passions that will allow show how the text is organized to produce the sense that it concerns and relates it with cultural and social contexts more extensive.
