Resumo: This work turns toward the study of the novel Orphans of the Eldorado by Milton Hatoum. Our analyses is based on the semiotic greimasian theory. Our intention is to as well as analyze the passional project that involves father and son, Amando and Arminto Cordovil, the affective relation that involves Arminto and Dinaura. Beginning in the 1980s, the semiotics starts to not only consider a subject moved for the modalities of the being and making, but it starts to claim, with certain relevance, the states of soul of the subject. They are initiated, of this form, the studies of the semiotics of the passions, the effect of sense of modal qualifications that modify the state of the subject. We analyse the passion of the resentment, a variant of the passion of anger and also the passion of homesickness, as well as the form as they are disclosed in the hatounian text. We still objectify to analyze the relation that the enunciator establishes between the literary composition and the myth of the Eldorado. In history Arminto Cordovil lives, in the present time of the articulation, to the edges of the river Amazon, and remembers the experiences of the past, its problematic relationship with the father and the delirious history of love with the enigmatic Dinaura, whose inexplicable disappearance makes possible that, restored the lack, she is taken to the myth condition in sincretism with legendary histories on the myth of the Eldorado.
