Resumo: Starting from the concept of built capital, and from the perspective of its relationship with cultural, educational, technological and ecological development of a region, the purpose of the present work is to propose sustainable territorial development indicators on the dimension of built capital considering characteristics of indicators that reflect development in infrastructure systems in the metropolitan region of Curitiba. The proposal is based on the methodological and conceptual use of infrastructure systems as a clustering dimension of the indicators, highlighting what effectively corresponds to the reality of territorial development and not just economic growth. The research contributes to the discussion of indicators in the integration of the three-capital theory: built, natural and social capital, with emphasis on infrastructure systems. The result was a selection of 70 infrastructure indicators which have been tested with the information from the Curitiba Metropolitan Region, with 31 indicators selected, in view of the available data, for evaluation of development in the municipalities of the region. In order to facilitate the interpretation of the results of the analyses carried out, the index of Sustainable Territorial Development - IDTSINFRA was created, which servers to indicate the current situation of Metropolitan municipalities regarding the selected infrastructure systems. It is expected that the proposed guidelines presented here shall assist in the decision-making process of urban management, contributing to the strengthening of the concept of sustainable territorial development.
