Resumo: The proposal for Health Promotion is to restore a dialogue between different cultures, educating for autonomy, connecting knowledge and savvy to broaden the understanding of reality and make the necessary changes around solidarity, tolerance, fight for equality and the right of the difference. The arts, in the social dimension, enable reflection and socializing and shareable experiences, preparing adolescents for a creative relationship with the world, expanding your consciousness about its potential and its possibilities of action on the ambient; providing strategies and resources as a stimulus to reflection of values, attitudes and behaviors. The objective of this study was to develop visual arts workshops for the purpose of empowerment and development of personal skills in adolescents at risk in the city of Franca (SP). This is a study with qualitative lineation, in which the knowledge was generated with emphasis on intervention and technique of a group. Were held 60 workshops of visual arts with a group of 18 adolescents (11-15 years) of both sexes, assisted by an NGO. It was noticed initially, there was a difficulty in expose oneself and working together, which required the researcher´s performance to that increase the bond of trust between the researcher and the participants, and between them. It was established in the group, partnerships based on trust, respect, attention and listening, approaching the researcher and the group, and improving the interactions between participants, which increased the respect and availability to each other. After performing the activities in the workshops, the teenagers were able to perceive themselves with more assertiveness, improved their self-perception, were able to discuss various issues with clarity, knowing identify their needs, their limits and discerning about what they could or not with regard to their difficulties. Demonstrated more interest in the care with yourself and your personal appearance, and have modified their perception of each other, suggesting that the visual arts workshops provided improvement of social, emotional and cognitive skills; helping them to deal better with everyday situations. It is a strategy that is in line with the principles of Health Promotion according to World Health Organization (WHO).
