Resumo: | The poem "Morte e vida severina - Auto de Natal pernambucano", one of the best known texts of João Cabral de Melo Neto, is the object of studies of the most varied aspects, from Literary Theory to Cultural Studies. However, studies of this work from the theoretical framework of the Discourse Analysis of French Line (AD) are not numerous. This dissertation takes the poem as a corpus of analysis, investigating the ways in which three categories of the paratopic shifters (MAINGUENEAU, 2009) are established in the work, namely: scenography, ethos and interlanguage. The analysis of the scenography, constructed in and by the discourse, allows to see the way in which this management makes the text the place of a representation of its own enunciation. The investment in a language code, when operating on the diversity of zones and registers of language, thus transforming the language itself into interlanguage, allows to produce an effect that results from the conformity between the exercise of the language that the text implies and the universe of meanings which he manifests. Through ethos, discourse is endowed with a voice that activates the stereotypical imagery of a socially valued body of enunciator. It is then investigated the ways in which such shifters constitute the specificity of this discourse, establishing for it a place in the literary field, legitimating its enunciation and, at the same time, paradoxically, how such dimensions of discourse are legitimized by the very development of the work. The analysis made here allows us to conclude that the voice that emerges from the poem is a voice of denunciation, rather than of hope, despite the categorization of Christmas auto that the subtitle of the text evokes. |
