Resumo: | The objective of the present study was to evaluate the bond strength of six experimental adhesive systems containing camphorquinone/amine and camphorquinone/amine/DPIHFP photoinitiator systems, associated with three different concentrations of 10-MDP (0% 6% or 12%) after 12 months of storage in distilled water at 37°C. Fifty-four sound human molars crowns were included in PVC cylinders with self-cured acrylic resin. Six experimental adhesives were prepared containing CQ/amine or CQ/amine/DPIHFP as photoinitiator and three different concentrations of 10-MDP (0%, 6% or 12%). The adhesive systems were applied following the etch-and-rinse protocol. Transparent cylindrical molds were placed on the hybridized dentin filled with composite resin and photoactivated. The specimens were stored in distilled water at 37o C for 24 hours, 6 months or 12 months and submitted to a micro-shear bond strength test (n = 15) at a crosshead speed of 0.5mm/min. Data were statistically analyzed by three-way ANOVA (10-MDP concentration, addition of DPIHFP and storage time) and Tukey's test (α = 5%). For the 10-MDP concentration, the bond strength values were statistically similar: MDP 6% (5.99 ± 4.90 MPa)a , MDP 12% (5.88 ± 3.73 MPa)a and MDP 0 % (5.29 ± 4.45 MPa)a . Regarding the addition of DPIHFP, the bond strength values were also statistically similar: CQ/amine (6.16 ± 4.40 MPa)a and CQ/amine/DPIHFP (5.25 ± 4.3 MPa)a . In relation to the storage time, the bond strength values varied in the following order: 24 h (6.53 ± 5.54 MPa)a , 6 months (5.95 ± 4.07 MPa)ab and 12 months (4,74 ± 3.00 MPa)b . It can be concluded that, for the experimental adhesives tested, the concentration of MDP and the addition of DPIHFP in the photoinitiator system did not influence the bond strength to dentin. For all groups evaluated, the bond strength decreased after 12 months of storage in distilled water. |
