Resumo: | The abdominal wall hernia repair is one of the most common surgical procedures conducted worldwide. Recent studies comparing laparoscopy and open surgical techniques have shown that laparoscopic surgery offers significant benefits. However, these results are only achieved if the surgeon has good academic background, has a clear understanding of the anatomy of the structures involving the abdominal wall hernia surgery and frequently performs it. The laparoscopy requires special skills to overcome the inherent limitations of this surgery. As a result the correction of endoscopic hernia has a higher learning curve. The purpose of ongoing training in minimally invasive surgery is to train surgeons with highly competent in performing laparoscopic procedures, reducing the risks of complications and recurrences. The multimedia technology provides the educator great time saving, since these resources can be quickly replaced, reissued, deleted, allowing for greater user interactivity. In recent years, the use of mobile devices with internet access has increased gradually, and the development of the applications with more attractive features can be didactic and assist in the educational process. Given this perspective, we sought to create a software that would stand to present the main characteristics: interactivity with the reader, agility in the functioning of the its system and acess to information. Likewise, remained a concern with the quality of the theoretical content of the chapter of hernias and, therefore, an opinion poll with medical experts in the area was carried out in order to technically evaluate the written content of the chapter. The development and analysis of the functional characteristics of a digital book geared to mobile devices is the main focus of this research, as well as its role in the education of the minimally invasive surgery for abdominal wall hernias. |
