Assédio moral e suas consequências para a saúde do trabalhador: um estudo de caso com servidoras públicas

Resumo: The moral harassment in working relations has been reaching noticeable repercussion nowadays because it is a kind of psychological violence resulting in immeasurable losses in the physical and psychological health of the employee. The objective of this study was to identify the consequences of the moral harassment to the worker’s health through the testimony of female public servers from different municipal, state and federal institutions. It is a qualitative research whose data were obtained through interviews performed with workers who suffers or have suffered some kind of moral harassment at work. The data were analyzed based in a content analysis technique through the genre of thematic analysis. The method consisted in the careful analysis of the data obtained through the interviews, then establishing six categories making possible to analyze how the embarrassment occurred at work, the intensity of the consequences of moral harassment in the different spheres of a worker’s life, the victim support network and the intervention of the companies in each case. The results showed how much the moral harassment is devastating in an individual life. The consequences for the victims are severe, comprising several psychological and physical diseases, putting their lives at risk as well their personal and professional welfare. It is indispensable that the managers reflect about their organizations focusing in health promotion in the working environment. Other important consideration is the need of a specific national law in order to prevent and punish the cases of moral harassment so that the workers can feel legally supported and protected from this kind of psychological violence.
