Resumo: The present work proposes a reflection of transformations occurred in the music industry between the decade of 1990 and beginning of the years 2000 and the impact of this movement in Brazilian music industry, including its actors, agents and organizations of sector. The objective of the research is to study the transformation of Brazilian phonographic market since 1990s and the impact of technology in this process, identifying how power relations in the period occurred, emergence of new actors, agents and organizations, contractual relations between record companies, digital platforms for music reproduction and distribution. In order to do so, we analyze the transformation of the industry based on theories of resistance and transaction costs, studying the impact for the various agents that make up this market: artists, record companies, music consumers, piracy and digital platforms. This work presents the results of a research with agents of sector and its perceptions of themes such as reconfiguration of the sector, emergence of new business models based on technologies of sharing and commercialization of music, artist as a digital entrepreneur, monopoly and annihilation of competitors practices.
