Análise quantitativa e incidência de cascudinhos (Alphitobius diaperinus) em frangos de corte

The aim of the present work was to quantitatively analyze the population of mealworms collected from an aviary intended for the production of broilers in the city of Dois Vizinhos - PR. The analysis and population counting of mealworms took place in the Herbário laboratory of the Universidade Tecnológica Federal do Paraná UTFPR – DV. Thirty traps adapted from the Arends models, of the sandwich type, were used at certain points within the aviary to verify the incidence and predominance of insects in certain areas of the aviary. The aviary was subdivided into three main areas, for four weeks, samples were also collected directly from the litter in the third and fourth weeks for comparison. Data were tabulated in Excel spreadsheets. Incidence analysis was calculated using mean and standard deviation values for each week. For the incidence of which area had more incidence, the non-parametric Kruskal – Wallis test was used due to the lack of data normality, however, it was complemented with boxplot graphs. The analyzes were performed considering a 5% significance level using the XLSTat Version 2017 and R programs. The efficiency of the traps was verified and the incidence of lesser mealworm (Alphitubius diaperinus) was verified throughout the collection period. It is concluded that there is a predominance of these arthropods in areas 2 and 3 of the aviary.
