The reading process takes place since the baby is still in the mother's womb and it is in this context that it is developed. The family is very important in acquiring the habit of reading books, including the child from childhood. The school, in turn, intensifies this process, developing in children new skills based on attractive and meaningful methodologies during the teaching-learning process. Knowing that the technological and digital age is here to stay, this work was carried out with the aim of discovering the possibilities of using these technologies during this process, and what are the positive impacts of using them. Based on the bibliographical research, we sought to achieve the objectives of this work, which are: To understand the effects that technologies have on reading acquisition; Understand the development of children's reading habits; and Point out the importance of family encouragement to acquire this habit. After analyzing the results of the studies carried out, it is concluded that technologies can be a great ally in the reading development process and that family support and encouragement is capable of making this process easier.
