Tratamento de sementes de canola com zinco: potencial fisiológico de sementes e estabelecimento inicial de plantas

Summary: Seed zinc treatment is efficient technique to assure availability and absorption of this nutrient in the early stages of plant growth. The aim of this study was to evaluate the influence of zinc seed treatment with different doses, on the seed physiological potential as well as in the initial establishment of canola plants. Seeds of canola, cultivars Hyola 61 and Hyola 433, each one represented by a lot, were treated with zinc at six doses (0, 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 mL of the commercial product formulated per seed kg-¹ ). The experimental design used was a completely randomized with four replications for the physiological seed potential tests and randomized blocks for the initial plant establishment evaluations. The evaluation of the seed physiological potential was performed by germination, first count of germination, accelerated aging, speed of germination, shoot and root length seedling and dry seedling weight, and the initial establishment of plants was assessed by seedling emergence, index of seedling emergence velocity, shoot and root plant length and dry plant weight. The results were submitted to analysis of variance and means comparison was performed by Tukey test at 5% probability, in a factorial scheme 2x6 (cultivars x doses). For the quantitative factor (zinc doses) regression equations were adjusted. Canola seed treatment with 2 mL kg-¹ seeds with Quimifol 78 affects positively seed germination and seed physiological potential, as well as the initial establishment of plants, resulting in a higher percentage and speed of plant emergence.

O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar a influência do tratamento de sementes com zinco, em diferentes doses, sobre o potencial fisiológico de sementes de canola, bem como no estabelecimento inicial de plantas. Sementes de canola das cultivares Hyola 61 e Hyola 433, representadas por um lote cada, foram tratadas com seis doses de zinco (0,1, 2, 3, 4 e 5 mL de produto comercial formulado kg-¹ de semente). O delineamento experimental utilizado foi inteiramente casualizado com quatro repetições para os testes de potencial fisiológico de sementes e de blocos ao acaso para os testes de avaliação do estabelecimento inicial de plantas. A avaliação do potencial fisiológico das sementes foi realizada por meio dos testes de germinação, primeira contagem de germinação, envelhecimento acelerado, índice de velocidade de germinação, comprimento de parte aérea e raiz de plântula e matéria seca de plântulas, e o estabelecimento inicial de plantas foi avaliado por meio da emergência de plântulas em vasos, velocidade de emergência, bem como comprimento de parte aérea e raiz de planta e matéria seca de plantas. Os resultados obtidos foram submetidos à análise de variância e comparação de médias por meio do teste de Tukey a 5% de probabilidade, em esquema fatorial 2x6 (cultivares x doses). Para o fator quantitativo (doses de zinco) foram ajustadas equações de regressão.
