Summary: This article proposes reflections on the self-representation of women artists in the exhibitions Women’s Stories: artists until 1900 and Feminist Stories: artists after 2000, exhibitions that took place at the São Paulo Art Museum Assis Chateaubriand (Masp), 2019. The investigation is based on two distinct experiences: the visit to the Museum and the relations established with the texts published in the exibition’s catalogue and anthology, in dialogical constructions between theoreticians Ana Paula Cavalcanti Simioni, Linda Nochlin and Michelle Perrot. Through the research, it was possible to establish the importance of the self-representation as an axiomatic resource which exposes gender conflicts existing in the Arts context, as well as its transforming force which is expressed politically and creates other ways for the agent to show themselves in the word.

La investigación está basada en dos experiencias distintas: la visita al Museo y las relaciones establecidas con los textos publicados en el catálogo de la exposición y su antología, en construcciones dialógicas entre las teóricas Ana Paula Cavalcanti Simioni, Linda Nochlin y Michelle Perrot. Através de la investigación, fue posible establecer la importancia de la autorrepresentación como un recurso axiomático que expone los conflictos de género existentes en el contexto del Arte, así como su fuerza transformadora que se expresa políticamente y crea otras formas para los agentes de mostrase a ellos mismos en el mundo.Este artigo tem como proposta traçar reflexões sobre a autorrepresentação de mulheres artistas nas exposições Histórias das mulheres: artistas até 1900 e Histórias feministas: artistas depois de 2000, mostras que aconteceram no Museu de Arte de São Paulo Assis Chateaubriand (Masp), em 2019. A investigação parte de duas vivências: a visita ao museu e as relações estabelecidas com os textos publicados no catálogo e na antologia, em construções dialógicas entre as teóricas Ana Paula Cavalcanti Simioni, Linda Nochlin e Michelle Perrot.
