The following essay has been done within a professional internship as part of the study plan for the 2nd year of the master's degree in Ensino de Educação Física of the Faculdade de Desporto da Universidade do Porto, and it is an important stage in the professional training process of the student interns. This year was full of continuous discovery and refreshing knowledge, a journey of personal discovery, in which the school represented a huge and unknown sea where I was challenged to put into practice all my knowledge and convictions. This essay represents the richness of this complex and prosperous process, where all elements were important. This journey was divided into several chapters. First, a short introduction explaining the main goals of the professional internship and the essay itself, followed by the main forces on which the whole preparation of this essay was based. Afterwards, there is a report of how helpful the theoretical conceptions were and how did they help me along this journey in a way of either support or deny such beliefs regarding problems I encountered along the year and how I overcame them. All this followed by detailed information of the conditions of the place where the internship took place, the whole process and people involved, showing thus that it is possible to dismantle paradigms and developing within the pedagogical branch, so that in future I have the necessary qualities to be a sea captain, always with a reflective look about the development.
