O papel da investigação na formação de professores e educadores: Um estudo de caso

A formação dos futuros docentes em metodologias de investigação é uma das preocupações do plano de estudos da Licenciatura em Educação Básica da Escola Superior de Educação de Santarém. Este trabalho visa apresentar as estratégias e métodos de formação usados no âmbito da unidade curricular Investigação em Estudo do Meio desse curso. O seu principal objetivo é desenvolver nos futuros educadores e professores competências de investigação. As primeiras aulas dessa unidade curricular são destinadas à sensibilização dos alunos para a importância do Estudo do Meio enquanto espaço de investigação. Seguem-se algumas aulas para a análise dos tipos de investigação que são passíveis de serem realizados em Estudo do Meio, focando os instrumentos e as técnicas de recolha de dados. Depois desses aspetos introdutórios, o restante tempo letivo organiza-se em regime de tutorias e é destinado à elaboração e concretização do plano de investigação, o qual segue as seguintes etapas: i) definição da questão-problema e dos objetivos do estudo; ii) revisão teórica do problema de investigação; iii) definição da metodologia a aplicar; iv) construção dos instrumentos de recolha de dados; v) recolha de dados no terreno; vi) interpretação dos resultados e conclusões finais. O trabalho realizado ao longo de dois anos letivos conduziu à elaboração de dezenas de investigações pelos discentes que frequentaram a unidade curricular. Algumas dessas investigações foram, inclusivamente, apresentadas em encontros científicos. Esse conjunto de trabalhos de investigação revelou-se bastante profícuo em termos de aplicação de conhecimentos sobre as principais etapas envolvidas numa investigação. Os alunos evidenciaram, de uma forma geral, um desenvolvimento significativo das competências necessárias ao bom desenvolvimento de uma investigação. (Abstract: The training of the future teachers in research methodologies is one of the concerns of the studies plan of the degree on Basic Education from the College of Education of Polytechnic Institute of Santarém. This work aims to present strategies and training methods used in the context of the subject Research in Environment Study of this course. Its main objective is to develop in future educators and teachers research skills. The first classes of the subject are aimed at students’ awareness to the importance of the Environment Study as research space. Afterwards there are some lessons for the analysis of the types of research that are likely to be made in Environment Study, focusing on the instruments and data collection techniques. After these introductory aspects, the remaining school time is organized in tutorial scheme and it is designed for the preparation and implementation of the research plan, which follows the following steps. i) definition of the question-problem and objectives of study; ii) theoretical review of the research problem; iii) definition of the methodology to be applied; iv) building of the instruments of data collection; v) data collection in the field; vi) interpretation of the final results and conclusions. The work done over two school years led to the creation of dozen of investigations by students who attended the course. Some of these investigations were also presented at scientific meetings. All these research projects proved to be quite fruitful in terms of application of knowledge about the main steps involved in an investigation. The students showed, in general, a significant development of necessary skills for the proper development of an investigation.)
