Fortunately, there are some real alternatives to replace the protein value found in meat. This project analyzes one of these alternatives – Mealworm Powder – its advantages and the best way to introduce them into the market. The goal of this research is to understand which features consumers value most regarding packaging design to encourage uncommon food products’ consumption. Specifically, we assess how cute packaging design influence the risk perception on disgusting and intention to purchase. Further, the secondary purpose of the study is to understand how environmental and ethical issues impact purchase decisions. At the first stage, it seems obvious that a product with a cute packaging design, whatever it is, will have a higher purchase intention by consumers.
