This study examines the impact of the Fear of Better Options (FOBO) on purchase intentions in the online computer marketplace. The study employs the Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to examine the interplay between FOBO and other psychological factors such as Choice Overload, Perceived Risk, and Involvement. The results show that Perceived Risk significantly influences FOBO and Purchase Intentions, while Choice Overload notably increases FOBO. Surprisingly, Involvement does not mitigate the effects of FOBO on purchase decisions as expected.
