The neighborhood of Umbará, located in one of the most distant ends of the city of Curitiba, was at first a colony of Italian immigrants formed in the year 1887. Isolated because of the distance and the extremely difficult access because of the bad roads and the mud , the neighborhood developed the part of the city creating a way of being, acting and thinking that defined its residents with a very unique and unique identity. Founded in 1912, as a parochial school of the Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the Padre Claudio Morelli School came to represent through its school culture a place of formation and maintenance of this identity called Umbaraense. A school institution reflects not only the laws, norms, pedagogical theories in vogue, but also, it represents a school culture of its own, directly related to the environment in which it is inserted and of which it is part. |
