Resumo: This dissertation presents the analysis and implementation of a five level T-type single-phase CC-CA bidirectional converter, with the main goal of connecting it to the electric grid. Static and dynamic analyses are demonstrated, as well as, the stresses on each component of the structure. A design methodology is indicated, seeking the practical implementation of the topology, with a rated power of 2500 VA and 220 . All expressions developed through the mathematical analysis of the converter are validated by numerical simulations, proving the veracity of the presented equations. Positive aspects of the converter are observed, when a comparison with the H bridge converter is performed. Thus, resulting in a better efficiency. The main positive aspects found in the studied converter are: a) reduced losses in the inductor of the low pass filter; the switching in all the switches occurs with half the dc-link voltage; with a total of six semiconductors, two commutes at low frequency and four changes between dissipative and non-dissipative switching. b) with the five-level modulation, a better quality of the generated signal is verified, reducing harmonic distortions and electromagnetic interference. Therefore, in the end, these characteristics are proved by means of a practical implementation. Simulation and experimental results are presented with the purpose of validating the whole study developed in this work.
