Resumo: | This work presents the Corporate Education (CE) as one of the practices of knowledge management, which besides promoting incentives to the activities of dissemination and use of the knowledge; it also exalts the practices of the continuous learning, aligned to the organizational strategies. The inductive method was used in this exploratory research, and through questionnaires and semi-structured interviews, a multi-case study was carried out with managers of the corporate education units in nine Brazilian organizations. The general objective was to evaluate the stages of implementation of the corporate education process at these companies. It was established that there is no model to be followed, however the decision of creating a CE unit, often called as corporate university, started from the leaders. That was the response of most organizations in this study as the initial stage. Through that implementation, the aim was to involve a larger number of leaders and managers of the company with the CE process as well as to benefit the change of the organizational culture in behalf the creation of a favorable environment to the continuous learning. The study concluded that the implementation stages of the CE process may even follow a similar operational sequence, but they should certainly be customized to meet the needs and characteristics of each organization. |
