Resumo: For teams of students to perform in the most effective way, it is important to understand the patterns related to group formation, including diversity factors. Many studies address this subject, however, after a literature review, it was observed that there is a lack of this type of study in courses in the computing area. With this prerogative, this study aims to understand the association between academic performance and the context gender, sociability and personality diversity in teams of courses in Computing. Data on social connections, gender, feelings, team building and performance were aggregated to perform the analyzes using statistical techniques. Data were obtained through the construction of a social network in the classroom and also from the answers to a questionnaire sent to students, applied at various times throughout the semester. Entropy and coefficient of variation were used to calculate diversity indices and, finally, linear regressions were implemented to better understand the association between the variables. The results indicate that teams that are more diverse in terms of personality and sociability tend to perform better, however, for the gender item, there was no statistical difference in grade gains in teamwork.
