Resumo: Jeans laundries are dominated by small and medium-sized enterprises called PME, but they lack basic information to program energy efficiency measures. The objective of this research is to present the energy efficiency measures applicable in the jeans laundries in Caruaru-PE that indirectly contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gases. The study highlighted the need for a specialist to improve production processes and promote the environmental management of laundries so that they fit the Standards and legislations in force for better power the energy consumption, energy security and pollution reduction. In this research, information about the electric and thermal energy of the laundry chosen as a case study was collected through technical visits, thermographic photos, temperature and relative humidity sensors, and wood moisture test. The need for improvements in the electrical and thermal systems, the exchange of obsolete machines and equipment and the adequate maintenance in the electrical part were verified, as well as a better combustion efficiency in the boiler, by the quality control of the firewood used as fuel. The improvement of the techniques used for energy consumption in the production of jeans in Caruaru - PE will reduce the cost of energy and contribute to minimize environmental impacts.
