Resumo: |
The analysis of samples from cattle in slaughterhouse may be important to assess the health status of a flock. Health records generated in these slaughterhouses, from ante-mortem inspection to the post-mortem one, create health history of slaughter routine and constitute an important source of nosological information. It is valuable to examine the animal’s lesions from those establishments, in order to indicate the presence and causes of diseases in the organics animal systems. Liver is susceptible to several kinds of lesions due to its metabolic functions, and its diseases are commonly related as a result of the action of diverse pathological processes. In order to promote an effective inspection both during the ante-mortem examination and the post-mortem judgment, the criteria established by macroscopic evaluation should be done, when it is possible, by laboratory investigation. Macroscopic evaluation sometimes is not similar to the microscopic one, so it is necessary to do an analysis of the animal’s tissues by macroscopic examination together with complementary tests to estimate more accurately the prevalence and impact of different causes of viscera condemnation. Thus, it is possible to assist the implementation and evaluation of control programs and eradication of zoonosis diseases and diagnosis. |
