The objective of this work is to check and analyze the food consumption of the beneficiaries of the Program for the Purchase of Food in the context of consumer society in the municipality of Serra Talhada-PE. The consumption culture immersed in capitalist society today has influenced and determined changes in habits and eating patterns of the Pernambucan population, mainly urban,but also an example of a small-town population hinterland of Pajeú. As a result of the dynamics of the capital, it is observed a growing commercialisation of life and food, is in the public domain or private, disbanding a consumption of products increasingly industrialised and away from your in natura original form. In this direction, the choice by the municipality of Serra Talhada located in hinterland of Pajeú should be increasingly affected by styles of urban living by their time marked by the culture and society of consumption, contemporary form of capitalist society. For the research of the study proposed in this thesis, the research was conducted qualitative exploratory also incorporates quantitative data. Its theoretical foundation highlighted, among other things, the Consumer Society, the capitalist State, the Politics of Food and Nutritional Security. As methodological procedures for the apprehension and understanding of the object of research, were chosen 2 (two) public schools attended by the Program for Purchase of Food and Program National Alimentation School, in which semi-structured interviews were based on a structured interview for the 2 (two) research subjects (handlers and mothers) and was conducted a focus group with students of 2 (two) classes from a roadmap of questions. The results showed that the consumption of food has suffered interference of the urbanization process and the new styles of life affecting the interiors population of backwoods in addition to the appeal of the mass media or by the power of the big corporations in the food industry. The research also pointed out, omission and the precariousness of the State in interaction with the Food and Nutrition Security Policy (Program for Purchase of Food) corroborating to a distancing from food consumption more in natura or artisanal, although, many times. There is awareness of the damage to the sociability and the health of the ingestion of food. |
