Resumo: The objective was to evaluate the effect of increasing levels (0; 6; 12; 18 %) of crude glycerin replacing corn in the diet of lambs on the quantitative characteristics of the carcass. We used 40 lambs without racial pattern defined, males, with four months of age and average initial weight of 21.0 ± 0.8 kg, randomly distributed to four treatments and ten repetitions. For carcass characteristics, was not effect between treatments, only for body weight at slaughter (35.21 kg), weight fasting (5.78 %), empty body weight (30.17 kg), cold carcass weight (16.53 kg) and final pH (5.38). Was not checked statistical effect of variables for meat cuts and morphometric measurements of carcasses, except the linear effect for perimeter of the chest (70.10 cm) and carcass compactness index (0.26 kg/cm). In the subjectives evaluations of conformation and finish was not checked statistical effect, but in the evaluation of pelvic-renal fat (2.67) was checked quadratic effect. It is concluded that crude glycerin (80.5 % glycerol) can replace corn without promoting changes in the main carcass characteristics of lambs.
