Resumo: This research investigates Arts teaching and its interfaces with Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs). It mixes qualitative and quantitative approaches, and was performed with teachers from the municipal teaching network of the city of Recife/PE (RMER), and students from the 6th to the 9th year of elementary school Pedro Augusto, during Arts classes. The overall goal was to verify to what extent Arts teachers use ICTs when teaching Arts contents of the syllabus. With data collected through questionnaires, we mapped the use of digital media in classes and identified the case of a school where the insertion of ICTs is frequent. We then presented the case study in which technologies serve as pedagogical support to the contents of Visual Arts, being used in theory and in practice for the poetic constructions of the students. We present suggestions of activities to help Arts teachers employ these media, according to the syllabus of RMER. The inclusion of ICTs in the teaching process can bring students closer to art works available in the Internet, and promote poetic experiences through mobile applications, software and sites that present new contemporary paradigms in Arts. In this sense, we propose the creation of a virtual art gallery with students' productions and outcomes of their research. To reach the results of this work, we performed documental analysis, bibliographic research and observation in Arts classes at the cited school. Among the activities undertaken by the students, we highlight Internet searches about diverse themes, and the use of digital media in poetic constructions. For capturing images, photography was the most used approach, also for taking self-portraits ("selfies"). Besides, photographs served as contextualization and inspiration for students for producing documentaries and animations, edited using resources such as Movie Maker software and Photo Grid application for the Stop Motion technique. Other applications were used such as Long Exposure 2, to draw with Light Paint, and Green Screen Lite, to use the technique of Chroma Key. These applications contributed to the creation process of the group. So, the photographs were used during classes both as tool for conveying information and as tool for making art. The students' productions are available on the blog didaticanafotografia.art.blog, one of the products of this research.
