Resumo: |
The performance of different swine genetic groups in grower-finishing stage an alternative system outdoors in the Semiarid of the Pernambuco state was the objective this study. The Academic Unit of Federal Rural University of Pernambuco from Serra Talhada was the place of the experiment. The animals were divided into six animals per area with 200 m² using an electric fence. There were feeders, two drinkers nipple type and a shelter in these areas. The experiment lasted for 30 days until the slaughter. The initial live weight ranged from 38 kg to 70 kg according the genetic group (Large White 3/4 x Pietran 1/8 x Landrace 1/8 - LWPL: 57,34 kg ± 6,40 kg; Large White 1/2 x Pietran 1/4 x Duroc 1/4 - LWPD: 70,29 kg ± 6,42 kg; e Piau x Sem Padrão de Raça Definida - PSRD: 38,5 kg ± 7,61 kg). The animals were fed an isoproteinous and isocaloric diets. A total of 36 animals distributed in three different genetic groups and two sexes (castrated male and female) with six repetitions in which each animal was a portion. Factorial arrangement (Genetic group X sex) in a completely randomized design was used. The data for postmortem analyses were performed on 24 animals. The results were submitted to Analysis of Variance and the means compared by Tukey test with α≤0,05. Performance of animals, carcass yield, yield of the cuts and meat quality parameters were studied. The genetic group Large White x Pietran x Landrace and Large White x Pietran x Duroc were more productive than Piau X Sem Padrão de Raça Definida. While the Piau X Sem Padrão de Raça Definida had better meat quality characteristics than the others. |
