Resumo: The most part of drove of goats is in Brazilian Northeast, constituted mainly by animals without standard breed. In general, these animals are usually breeding extensively in Caatinga. In the present time, nutritional requirements used to goats in Brazil follow International Committees. In order to have a good management in the nutrition of goats is necessary estimate accurate values for nutritional requirements. Therefore, The objective of this study was to estimate the nutritional requirements for energy and protein goats without defined breed, in the growth phase, grazing in semiarid region. It was used 40 animals without defined breed, males, castrated, with initial body weight of 17 kg. Four of them were slaughtered at the beginning of the experiment to determine the initial body composition. The other animals (n = 36) were divided into six groups of six animals each. We used the method of comparative slaughter to assess body composition and calculate the nutritional requirements. The daily requirements of net energy for maintenance and gain were estimated respectively at 55.59 kcal/kg PCV0,75 and 6.43 to 7.73 Mcal/kg GPCV for animals with body weight between 15 and 25 kg. The daily demands of liquid protein for maintenance and gain were estimated at 1.072 g/kg PCV0,75 and 368.09 to 289.79 g/kg GPCV respectively.
