Resumo: |
The experiment was conducted to evaluate the effect of different supplements of the performance of Holstein heifers, fed with diet based forage cactus (Opuntia ficusindica, Mill) (69,8%), sugar cane bagasse (27,6%) and urea (2,6%). Twelve heifers, with average weight of 240 kg were housed for a period of the 56 days. The basal diet was offered ad libitum. The heifers received as supplementation, 1 kg of wheat meal, 1 kg of soybean meal or 1 kg corn . The intakes of dry matter (DM) in kg/day, % of live weight (LW), organic matter, neutral detergent fiber (NDF), total carbohydrates and nonfiber carbohydrater were not affected by the supplement (7.79 kg/d; 3.30% LW; 7.27 kg/d; 3.34 kg/d; 6.15 kg/d and 2.81 kg/d, respectively). The heifers received soybean meal as supplement, showed larger intake crude protein and total digestible nutrient (TDN) (1.31 and 5,00, respectively). The supplemented diet corn showed little coefficient apparent digestibility of crude protein and NDF. The heifers supplemented soybean meal showed larger daily gain (1.17 kg/d). The soybean meal showed the better performance of animals. |
