Resumo: The study and the knowledge about zoonosis in geographic area are necessary to implement measures of health education and surveillance. Zoonosis such as leptospirosis and toxoplasmosis the role of wild carnivores as reservoirs is important, because carnivores can spread zoonotic agents in environment. The objective in this research was to determine the occurrence of antibodies anti-Leptospira spp., anti-Toxoplasma gondii, and anti-Neospora caninum in domestic and wild carnivores from Conservation Units of Pernambuco State - Brazil. Between August 2010 to October 2011, traps to capture wild carnivores in five Conservation Units: ―72º Batalhão de Infantaria Motorizado in Petrolina, ―Estação Ecológica do Tapacurá in São Lourenço da Mata, ―Parque Estadual Dois Irmãos in Recife, ―Reserva Ecológica Mata do Curado in Recife, and ―Estação Ecológica de Caetés in Paulista. In addition, the wild carnivores from ―Centro de Triagem de Animais Silvestres from ―Instituto Brasileiro do Meio Ambiente e dos Recursos Naturais Renováveis and the zoos of Pernambuco were included in study. A total of 210 blood samples were collected from 46 wild carnivores, 18 crab-eating foxes (Cerdocyon thous), three oncillas (Leopardus tigrinus), three ocelots (Leopardus pardalis), three jaguars (Panthera onca), one jaguarundi (Puma yaguaroundi), 12 coatis (Nasua nasua), three raccoons (Procyon cancrivorus), two tayra (Eira barbara), one ferret (Galictis cuja) and 137 dogs and 27 cats from interior and surroundings Conservation Units. Antibodies anti-Leptospira spp., anti-T. gondii and anti-N. caninum were found in 17.4% (8/46), 52.2% (24/46) and 0% (0/46) of wild carnivores and 3.8% (2/53), 32.3% (53/164) and 14% (23/164) of domestic carnivores, respectively. The serovars most prevalents of Leptospira spp. were Butembo, Panama, Copenhageni, Icterohaemorrhagiae e Castellonis. This study represented the first serological survey in free-living wild carnivores in Pernambuco and reported for the first time the occurrence of antibodies anti-Leptospira spp. and anti-T. gondii in free-living wild carnivores and anti-N. caninum antibodies in cats of Pernambuco.
