Resumo: |
The Brazilian Northeast suffers with water scarcity and because of the irregularity of rainfall, dams were created for water storage in order to minimize the effects of drought periods. Due to the close relationship between fish taxocenose and environmental characteristics, seasonality of the environment can interfere with the structure and composition of the local ichthyofauna. The weir Canoes, located in Environmental Protection Area of Araripe Plateau (CE), works for the water supply in the region and is used for irrigation and fishing activities. In this context, this work aims to understand the distribution patterns of fish species according to environmental seasonality. In this work, monthly collections were conducted from September of 2011 to August of 2012 with gillnets with mesh size between 12 and 70 mm between adjacent nodes were used. A total of 4,922 specimens were obtained, among 4,584 collected with gillnets and 338 trawl. A total of 16 species, divided into four orders and nine families was obtained. The most representative family Characidae was 80% of the specimens. For the species, the most representative and constant were Astyanax gr. bimaculatus, Triportheus siginatus, Steindachnerina notonota and Leporinus piau. Considering the months, the richness values were between 6-12 species, with the highest values from August to January. The diversity values were low throughout the year, with the highest diversity in January (2,19 bists/ind.). Analyzing of species through number of individuals and biomass, In the rainy and dry seasons, no significant difference was also observed, in which (p = 0.696 and p = 0.656 respectively). Among the species Leporinus piau, Triportheus signatus showed a higher frequency in the rainy season and Astyanax gr. bimaculatus and Steindachnerina notonota in the dry. In relation to environmental parameters, Triportheus signatus was influenced by precipitation, temperature, dissolved oxygen, pH and conductivity; in which the latter had an inverse relation. |
