Resumo: This research, carried out within Observatório da Educação program, aimed to understand some of the contributions of the master degree course offered by Science Teaching Graduate Program (PPGEC-UFRPE) for the training of teachers of higher education, in particular, for teacher training of teacher trainers. For this reason, it was analyzed the relationship between the conception of teacher training that some professionals, graduated in the Physics degree course in PPGEC-UFRPE, who work in higher education in Physics and/or Pedagogy degree courses have and the training offered to these professionals for this graduate program. It was verified, having as main methodological-theoretical referential George Kelly’s Personal Constructs Theory, the conceptions that three graduates have about teacher training and its relations with some other concepts related to this theme. There were readings of these subjects’ dissertations using some elements of the Comprehensive Analysis of the Word, semi-structured interviews for clarification and initial discussions, interviews in order to construct repertory grids and the analysis of contents in the menus of the mandatory curriculum components offered by PPGEC-UFRPE during the master degree course. Through the data acquired during the research, it was possible to describe several important relationships between the ideas that graduated professionals from PPGEC-UFRPE have and the training offered to these professionals for this graduate program, emphasizing their relevance to improve the quality of education, mainly in the science teaching area.
