Resumo: |
The objective of this work was to carry out a data survey, using PUBVET type indexers; SciElo and Google Scholar, seeking to analyze the canine nutritional profile, regardless of race, sex, age, collecting information about the changes caused in the body by overweight and / or obesity through the statistical technique of meta-analysis. Obesity is a pathological condition characterized by an accumulation of fat greater than necessary in the body, capable of harming animal health and well-being. Of the tests used to analyze the incidence of liver and kidney disorders, 72.7% evaluate biochemical tests and 63.6% use urinalysis to detect the analyzed disorders. The average distribution of the effects reported by 11 studies through boxplots were also evaluated in order to have an idea of how the level of variables of interest behave between the treatment and control groups. The median of creatinine between the treatment groups in the studies is slightly higher than the median of the average in the control groups. While the median of cholesterol levels in the treatment groups is greater than the median of the variable in the control group. In the mean effect of obesity on the variables of interest, it was observed that those used to verify the incidence of renal and hepatic dysfunction in animals was not a consensus. In the sample of the literature that was analyzed, a significant number of studies did not observe the effect of obesity on variables such as cholesterol and GGT, for example. It is not possible to generalize this effect and affirm that in fact overweight has a positive and statistically significant effect on creatinine levels, but the average effect of obesity on albumin and regarding cholesterol levels can be seen. a small effect. Regarding the effect of obesity on the GGT variable, it can be seen that the effects also have moderate heterogeneity. There was a medium effect of obesity on urea levels. The analyzed variables could not be correlated with obesity or overweight, there was no consensus to select which are the relevant variables for study, according to the case series of absence of biochemical changes in some patients, even though they are overweight. |
