Resumo: |
This paper has as its object of study the Presbyterian pastor and his family. he scope of the study covers the theological education of the pastor in Brazil, as well as, the way he deals with the transformations happening in our society taht affects his family. It also examines the rela-tionship of the pastor's family with the church where he works, the church that is his work place. It considers the crises the pastor and his family faces, especially related to the expecta-tions of the church concerning his family behavior during the involvement with church activ-ities and the whole ministry of the pastor. Family conflicts are also highligted corncerning the pastor's sexuality, the relationship with the children and other aspects required from that family during the ministry of the church. Also, the resulting frustrations experienced by the pastor's children, his wife and himself. For this purpose, bibliographical research, articles published in magazines and websites, testimonies of pastors, researches in dissertations and theses were used, as well as the personal observation of the researcher built during the 23 years of eccle-siastical work in the Presbyterian Church of Brazil. Based on the research carried out, this paper presents some alternatives for the pastor's family, with the purpose of giving him some informative elements, which can serve as support when facing crises, announced or already installed crises, so that he can bear dealing with problems with hope. The results of this re-search can be resourceful to pastors and others involved in ministry. |
