Resumo: As the cities are developing, the amount of bothering sounds there increases considerably, making that the urban noise becomes each more imponent at the sondscape, mainly of the big cities. In this context, the salubrity and the quality of life of the involved populations are highly engaged, it has seen that the sonorous pollution has diverses harmful effects to the man. In this way, this work intends to detach the importance of the acoustics directrixes in the urban planning and in the architectonic project, to be possible to improve the noise attenuation. The first chapter intends to present an overview of the sondscape evolution, showing some of the most history bothering sounds and, after that, to analyze the current urban sonorous landscape. The second chapter presents the main concepts of the acoustics, whose knowledge is basic for the further reading. The third chapter intends to study the urban acoustics barriers, which are the contention barrier that act as interceptors of sonorous waves between the source and the receiver. Finally, the fourth chapter intends to examine the architectonics acoustics barriers, which are forms and dimensions that the building can assume for a better isolation of the external noise.
