Resumo: |
The purpose of this research is to analyze the crucial dialogical relationship between the city and the social experiences that take place through the architecture of educational spaces. It aims to present the identities of these spaces, whether innovative or not, manifested in significant examples of Brazilian school architecture, as well as their interconnections of architectural configuration in themselves and in the urban space. Therefore, it was necessary to underline thematic approaches to the city, knowledge and education that, through historiographical research, chose experiences that reveal the presence of the city in educational facilities or vice versa. Experiences that explain to a greater or lesser extent the importance of material aspects related to the practices and the elaboration of public policies for educational purposes. In this way, the research traced to the growing role of the city as an educational space, of the formulations generated by the key figure of Anísio Teixeira and his performance in the public sphere as a fundamental antecedent for understanding the emblematic case of the Unified Educational Centers - CEUs, throughout three municipal administrations. In addition to the bibliographic review, this research took as a methodological tool the search for primary sources, visits, interviews with architects and public agents who worked in the discussions and choices of the land, organization of pilot projects and construction systems, as well as in the participations of the respective implantation feasibility studies; it also worked with the preparation of physical models of the terrain and readings of graphic pieces, such as satellite images, drawings of implantation, architecture, landscaping and cartographic bases to elaborate the data comparison. As part of the results obtained, this study listed architectural and urban elements that emphasized the three generations of CEUs, in their conceptions, fragmentations and segmentations, according to the characteristics attributed to them in the different mandate. |
