Resumo: In competitive markets, strategic organizational resources provide companies with a higher level of performance. In this context, the study aimed to analyze the relationship between market orientation, dynamic capabilities and organizational performance of micro, small and medium enterprises located in the northwest and northeast of the state of Rio Grande do Sul that are in the region covered by the University of Passo Fundo. To meet the proposed objective, the methodological procedures were approached in two stages: an exploratory and qualitative and another descriptive and quantitative, collecting information from 168 companies. The questionnaire was designed from the MARKOR market orientation scale, the dynamics capabilities scale was based on Wang and Ahmed (2004; 2007), Teece (2007) and Pavlou and El Sawy (2011), organizational performance used objective measures from Maltz, Shenhar and Reilly (2003). Cronbach's Alpha analysis indicated internal consistency of the construct. Structural equation modeling has shown that market orientation positively impacts organizational performance and dynamic capabilities. While the relationship between dynamic capabilities and organizational performance was statistically not significant. Moreover, the mediating effect of the dynamic capabilities between market orientation and organizational performance proved to be statistically insignificant. This study contributes to the advance of the understanding of both theories by explaining the combinations between the constructs.
